Working together

Are We Right For You?

If you’re comparing video production companies right now, you’ll have noticed we all start to sound the same. Everyone’s passionate, everyone’s creative, everyone tells stories. So rather than add to the noise, we thought we’d do something more useful: give you an honest answer about who we’re right for, and who we’re not.

Because the truth is, we’re not the right fit for every business, and that’s fine. By the end of this page you’ll know whether we should have a chat or whether another company would serve you better. Both are good outcomes. We’d much rather point you in the right direction than take on work we’re wrong for.

Who we do our best work for

We do our best work for firms in Scotland and the North of England whose buyers need to trust them before they commit. Professional services, B2B companies, architects, product companies with training-heavy customers. If your sale involves a proper conversation and a decision someone could get wrong, that’s our patch. Founders building an audience around their expertise are in that group too.

The videos we make come in two forms. Your customers on camera, telling the story of what you did for them: case study videos and testimonial videos. And you on camera, showing the people behind the business: website films, brand films, YouTube. Most of our clients end up with a mix of both, because the two do different jobs. One proves it, the other makes people want to work with you.

And it works in numbers, not compliments. National Private Investigators put our films on their website and doubled their revenue, from £15,000 a month to £30,000 in three months. Threesixty Architecture used a film we made to win public backing for a town-centre redevelopment. Still Spirit, a whisky shop, built a YouTube channel with us that has done over 600,000 views and drives direct sales. You can see all of it on our work page.

Who we’re wrong for

Some briefs we could take your money for and still be the wrong choice. Here’s the honest list.

TV commercials and cinematic brand films. If you want a thirty-second spot with actors, a big crew and a director’s chair, that’s a different kind of company. Unless you’re Coca-Cola, you probably don’t need it, but if you do, hire an ad production house. They’re brilliant at it and we’re not them.

Studio product shoots. Packshots, tabletop work, products spinning on turntables. There are studios set up precisely for this, and they’ll do it better and cheaper than we would.

Weddings. A lovely job. Not our job. Wedding filmmakers are a whole craft of their own and Glasgow has some great ones.

The cheapest possible video. If price is the only line on your scorecard, someone with a camera and a free weekend will always beat us. No hard feelings.

Businesses where nobody will go on camera. This one matters most. Our whole approach is people: your customers talking, or you talking. If no customer would say yes and nobody in the business is willing to be its face, we have nothing to film. Fix that first and then come back to us.

A two-minute way to tell

Five questions. Answer honestly.

  1. Do you sell something considered, where trust decides who wins the work?
  2. Do you have happy customers who’d talk on camera, or someone in the business willing to be its face?
  3. Are you in Scotland or the North of England? (Further afield works too, travel is simply priced into your quote up front.)
  4. Are you after enquiries and sales rather than a showreel?
  5. Does a budget starting at £1,500 + VAT for a single film sit comfortably? Our prices are published, so you can check before we ever speak.

Four or more yeses and we should talk. Two or fewer and we’re probably not your company, and now you know without sitting through a sales call.

What working together actually looks like

Three steps. We get on a call and work out what will actually move your business, not just what would look nice. Then we script, film and edit. Then you get films you can use everywhere: your website, your proposals, your socials, your sales conversations.

It’s lighter than most people expect. A testimonial shoot needs about an hour of your customer’s time. Your finished films arrive within two weeks of filming. The quote is fixed before we start, travel across the central belt included. And if you like arriving prepared, our brief template is free and takes fifteen minutes.

If the camera part is the bit that worries you, you’re in good company. As Zoë Miller of All About The Move put it: “Jack and Josh really helped us relax in front of camera. … I highly recommend them, especially if you are new to using video for your business.”

If we’re right (and if we’re not)

If you read this page nodding, book a call. Come with questions, we’ll come with straight answers, and you’ll know quickly whether it’s a fit.

If we’re not right for you, we keep a list of ten good video production companies in Glasgow. We’re on it, so judge for yourself, but the other nine are genuinely good at the things we don’t do.

Whatever you decide, we hope this page saved you a few sales calls. And if we do end up working together, you’ll get the same straight answers all the way through.
