The 10 Best Video Production Companies in Glasgow (2026)

If you're shortlisting video production companies in Glasgow, this is the list we'd want if we were in your shoes: every company checked and still trading as of July 2026, each one matched to the work it's actually best at, and real prices further down the page.

A quick word on who's writing this. We're Steadyhand Productions, and we make around 50 videos a year for businesses across Glasgow and the central belt. Because of that, people ask us all the time who else is out there. It's a fair question. No production company is the right fit for every job, including us. If you need a live sports broadcast or an animated explainer, there are specialists in this city who will do it better than we ever could, and we'd rather point you at them than take on work we're wrong for.

So yes, we've put ourselves on this list, right at the top, and we've made the case honestly. Below us you'll find nine companies we rate, each with a plain "best for" line so you can find your match fast.

How We Chose This List

Specialisms matter more than star ratings. That's the single most useful thing we can tell you about hiring a production company in Glasgow.

Every company here passed three checks in July 2026: they're still trading (we checked Companies House), they have real, recent work to show, and they have a clear specialism. Where a company has a public review footprint, we looked at that too.

The "Best for" line on each entry is the fastest way to use this page. If you want a music video, hire the music video specialist. If you want a video that wins your business customers, that's the top of the list. For a deeper walkthrough of budgets, briefs and red flags, read our guide to choosing the right video agency.

The 10 Best Video Production Companies in Glasgow

1. Steadyhand Productions

Best for: marketing videos, customer case-study films and brand films for businesses.

Our list, so we get the top spot. Here's the honest case for it, and then nine good reasons to hire somebody else.

If you run a business and you want video that wins customers, that is the entire job here. We make around 50 videos a year for firms across Glasgow and the central belt: case-study films, testimonial videos, website videos and corporate video production, at fixed prices we publish on our pricing page. We're rated 5 stars on Google by more than 40 clients, and 5.0 on Clutch's Glasgow rankings.

Two examples of what that looks like in practice. National Private Investigators doubled their revenue in three months after we rebuilt their website around video, going from £15k to £30k a month. Threesixty Architecture used our film to win public and political backing for a town-centre redevelopment.

What we don't do: sports broadcast, music videos or animation. For those, keep reading. For marketing video that pays for itself, talk to us.

2. QTV

Best for: sport and live outside broadcast.

QTV describe themselves as the leading independent outside broadcast facility in Scotland, and the client list backs it up: the SPFL, the SFA, Scottish Rugby, BBC Scotland and Sky. Working from a purpose-built remote production facility in Baillieston, they deliver over 500 live events a year. If your project is a match, a tournament or anything that needs broadcast-grade live coverage, this is the call to make. It's a very different discipline from marketing video, and QTV are the specialists at it.

3. Mallard Productions

Best for: broadcast crewing, live events and music videos.

Mallard have been at it since 2008 from their base at Hillington Park, and much of their work is the machinery of broadcast: supplying camera operators, crews and kit to broadcasters and event producers across the UK. Their service list also covers livestreaming, sports coverage, music videos and post-production. If you need an experienced crew for a broadcast or a live event, or facilities to support your own production, they're one of the most established options in the city.

4. Urbancroft Films

Best for: accessible productions (BSL and audio description) and studio-scale shoots.

Urbancroft have been making films from Film City in Govan for 18 years, with a 5,000 square foot studio and a client roster that includes the BBC, UK Parliament and NHS Scotland. What genuinely sets them apart is accessibility: they're the only company on this list offering British Sign Language and audio description as core services. If your film needs to reach every audience, or your production needs proper studio infrastructure, start here.

5. Chocolate Films

Best for: charity, arts and social-purpose films.

Chocolate Films is a social enterprise with offices in London, Berlin and, since 2017, Glasgow. They hold a Royal Warrant, awarded in 2025, and their client list reads like a cultural who's who: the British Library and Scottish Ballet among them. They're also strong on events and workshop-based community filmmaking. If you're a charity, an arts organisation or a public body with a story to tell, their social purpose runs right through how they work.

6. FoSho Studios

Best for: podcasts, virtual production and training your in-house team.

FoSho are a content studio in the Merchant City doing something genuinely different: alongside video, they produce podcasts, photography and animation, and they built Scotland's first accessible mini virtual production studio. Through FoSho CREW they'll also train your in-house team to make content themselves, which is a service almost nobody else here offers. If you want a content partner across formats, or you'd rather build the capability internally than outsource it forever, FoSho are the ones to speak to.

7. Lost Clock Productions

Best for: documentaries and short films on smaller budgets.

Lost Clock are a southside outfit making documentaries, short films, event coverage and promos, with end-to-end production aimed at small and medium-sized projects. Their own tagline promises films for "the big, small, and wee vertical screen", which tells you a lot about the attitude: flexible, unpretentious and happy to work at budgets some of the bigger names on this list won't touch. A good shout for community organisations and first-time commissioners.

8. Touzie Tyke

Best for: 2D and 3D animation and motion graphics.

Touzie Tyke are a dedicated animation studio, founded in 2010 by two animators and based at Film City. Their work spans broadcast graphics for the BBC, gallery installations for National Museums Scotland and Dynamic Earth, and animated teaching modules for the NHS. Animation is a completely different craft from live-action filming, and it's not one we pretend to have. If your project is animated, hire animators. These are the ones we'd point you to in Glasgow.

9. Wandern Media

Best for: luxury hospitality and drinks brand films.

Wandern make cinematic film and photography for luxury brands, with a portfolio that leans heavily into Scottish hospitality and whisky: Crerar Hotels, Mar Hall, Wolfie's Whisky and Eden Mill all feature. If you're marketing a hotel, a distillery or a premium product where the visuals have to feel expensive, that aesthetic is their home ground.

10. Humble Film Productions

Best for: music videos and narrative short film.

Humble are a collective of filmmakers who met at film school and set up in 2019, and their heart is clearly in cinema: award-winning shorts, an extensive music video catalogue with some of the biggest names in Scotland's music scene, and a period drama, 1815, now streaming on STV Player. TED and Nike SB appear on their client list too. If you're an artist or a label, or your project is closer to filmmaking than marketing, Humble bring a visual ambition that commercial studios rarely match.

What Video Production Costs in Glasgow

Nobody else writing these lists publishes numbers, so here are ours.

In Glasgow in 2026, a single professionally produced marketing film starts at around £1,500 plus VAT. A case-study film, with interviews and b-roll filmed on location, typically lands between £2,500 and £3,500. Filming several videos in one batch day brings the per-video cost down significantly: a batch day with us runs about £3,000 and can produce several finished videos. Ongoing plans change the economics again; our Pro Video Plan starts at £1,200 a month.

Specialist work is priced differently. Animation is quoted by complexity and length, and outside broadcast by crew and kit, so ask those companies directly. For a full breakdown of what moves the price up or down, our video production cost guide covers it honestly.

How to Choose Between Them

Whoever you shortlist, three questions will tell you more than any showreel.

Who actually turns up to film? Some companies keep production in-house; others sell the job and subcontract freelancers. Neither is wrong, but you should know who you're getting, because consistency of crew is consistency of quality.

Do you get the raw footage and full usage rights? Some agencies keep the rushes and charge you to re-edit your own material later. Ask before you sign, not after.

What does a revision round cost, and how long does it take? A quote that looks cheap can get expensive the moment you ask for changes. Clear revision terms up front are the mark of a company that has done this a lot.

We wrote a full guide on this, including budget-setting and the red flags to walk away from: how to pick the right video agency.

Conclusion

Glasgow has genuine depth in video production, and the right choice depends entirely on the job. Hire QTV for the match, Touzie Tyke for the animation, Humble for the music video. Every company on this list will do good work in its lane.

And if the job is marketing video for your business, films that win trust and customers rather than awards, that's the lane we've spent years in. Have a look at our work and the results behind it, check our prices, and if it sounds like a fit, tell us about your project.
