Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Steadyhand Productions Ltd (“Steadyhand”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit steadyhandproductions.co.uk, get in touch with us, book a call, receive an email from us or work with us as a client.

Who we are

Steadyhand Productions Ltd is a video production company registered in Scotland (company number SC727739). Our office is Office 223, The Briggait, 141 Bridgegate, Glasgow G1 5HZ. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything to do with your data, email info@steadyhandproductions.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Things you tell us. When you send an enquiry or book a call we collect your name, email address, company and anything you write to us, such as the type of video, budget and timeline.
  • Business contact details. We may contact people at businesses we think could use our services, using professional details such as name, job title, company and work email address from publicly available business sources.
  • Client project information. If you work with us, we hold the contact, billing and project details needed to make and deliver your videos, plus any footage of you that we film.
  • How you use the website. Pages viewed, how you arrived (including referring site and campaign links), device and browser type, approximate location and IP address, collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

How and why we use it

  • To reply to enquiries, run discovery calls and send proposals. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
  • To deliver work for clients, send invoices and keep business records. Our lawful bases are performance of a contract and our legal obligations (for example, tax records).
  • To let businesses know about our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in promoting our business to other businesses. You can ask us to stop at any time, and we will not contact you again.
  • To understand how the website is used, measure our marketing and show our adverts to people who have visited the site. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business.

We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies, analytics and advertising pixels

The website uses the following:

  • Google Analytics (Google) to measure visits, where visitors come from and which pages lead to enquiries and bookings.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram adverts and to show adverts to people who have visited the site. As well as the pixel in your browser, our server sends the same events to Meta (Meta’s Conversions API). When you book a call or send an enquiry this includes your email address and name in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can match the event to an existing Meta account without receiving them in readable form. Meta may use this data together with information it already holds about you, in line with Meta’s privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site and protects our forms from spam (Turnstile).
  • Cal.com, our booking calendar, and Wistia and YouTube, which play the videos on the site. These may set their own cookies when you use them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on, and control how Meta uses website activity for adverts in your Meta ad preferences.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run our business, such as email, booking, customer records, website hosting, video hosting and accounting. They process data only on our instructions and for the purposes above. We may also share data with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, we make sure it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and prospect records: up to 3 years from our last contact, unless you become a client.
  • Client and financial records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to.
  • Requests not to be contacted: kept so we can make sure we never contact you again.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics. Meta keeps pixel data under its own policies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it to be transferred. You can object to direct marketing at any time and we will stop. To use any of these rights, email info@steadyhandproductions.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
