Skyscanner · Event Promo Film
The promo film for Skyscanner Ascend 2025
The challenge
Ascend is Skyscanner’s flagship event for its advertising partners: the airlines, destinations, agencies and brands that reach travellers through its platform, brought together to see where travel marketing goes next. Ahead of Ascend 2025 in London, the team needed a promo film with one job: get advertising leaders from around the world to commit the dates and book the flights.
The raw material came in two halves. The previous year’s event existed only as supplied footage, filmed before we were involved, and the new message needed fresh pieces to camera. The film had to make both feel like one production.
Our solution
We filmed what was missing and cut the rest from what already existed:
- New pieces to camera, filmed by our own senior team.
- Skyscanner’s supplied event footage logged, selected and cut alongside them.
- One grade, one pace, one soundtrack, so you can’t see the join between their footage and ours.
- Every edit decision pointed at a single call to action: sign up.
It’s a delivery shape we offer on any project, not just this one: if footage already exists, we can do the rest. The filming day is only ever half the job; the other half is an edit that knows exactly what the film is for. That’s the same thinking behind every promotional film we make.
The results
- The film fronted the sign-up push for Ascend 2025 in London.
- The event it promoted drew advertising leaders from airlines, destinations, agencies and brands from around the world.
- And the play is repeatable: footage from one year’s event sells the next year’s, which is the strongest argument there is for filming your event properly.
