Mostyn Wilson · YouTube Channel
A YouTube channel that builds the audience before the book
The challenge
Mostyn Wilson spent 22 years at KPMG, seven of them as a Partner, and now advises senior leaders across financial and professional services. He has a book on leadership on the way, and a LinkedIn following of 60,000 people.
A following isn’t the same as an audience. On LinkedIn, people scroll past in seconds, on a feed he doesn’t own. A book launch needs readers who already know how he thinks, and that takes hours of his ideas in front of them, not a few lines at a time. Until October 2025, his YouTube channel held a single keynote showreel.
Our solution
A weekly long-form show on executive careers and leadership, built to earn attention now and pay off when the book lands.
- Long enough to show how he thinks. Episodes run 7 to 18 minutes: the depth a former partner’s advice needs, and the kind of viewing that turns a stranger into a reader.
- Topics his buyers already search for. Getting promoted, executive presence, leaving corporate life: the questions senior professionals actually type into YouTube.
- A rhythm that doesn’t slip. 46 episodes since the first in October 2025, week after week.
- One shoot, two jobs. Every episode also becomes video for his LinkedIn, so 60,000 followers see something new each week without a second production.
It’s how our YouTube marketing agency works for experts: a monthly retainer, run like the Pro Video Plan, where the channel keeps moving whether or not you have time that week.
The results
- A channel that didn’t exist a year ago now holds 46 episodes and over 2,000 hours of watch time: hours of Mostyn’s thinking that people chose to sit through.
- Breakouts arrive as the library grows. “7 Things Top Executives Know About Work That You Don’t” took off in December, and in August “The Unwritten Rule That Quietly Ends Careers at the Top” became his most-watched video within four weeks.
- The audience is in place before the book is. Anyone who hears about it can watch hours of the ideas behind it first.
